Don't Buy The Lie

The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.”

— Matt. 4:16

The devil is an idiot. If you keep blaming him for the bad happening in your life, you need to come to the realization that…he’s an idiot. He’s a one trick pony. Deception is his game and if you allow yourself to be manipulated and deceived, you will become his victim.

I was driving in the car over to our office thinking about the power and potency of the name of Jesus—when the Holy Spirit painted a picture in my mind. There was a person in a dark room. The devil kept whispering lies to this person and they inevitably felt hopeless and defeated. The devil continued to say things like “you’ll never be free” or “theres no way out of this”.  The more the lies, the darker the room got. BUT when the Word came in, that dark room lit up! What seemed to be chains were nothing at all. Where there was no way to get out of the room, a door appeared!

Ya’ll this is why people remain stuck! The devils deception will make you feel like it’s the end, but Jesus is the light (John 1:4) that brings you out of your despair! It might be dark but all you need is the light of God’s Word to help you see the way out! (Psalm 119:105)

Here is some light for the darkness in your life;

There will be no miscarriages or infertility in your land, and I will give you long, full lives. Exodus 23:26

You will be blessed above all the nations of the earth. None of your men or women will be childless, and all your livestock will bear young. Deut. 7:14

“For I am the Lord who heals you” Exodus 15:23

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. Psalm 147:2

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. But his wounds you are healed. 1 Peter 2:24

But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:5

The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health. Psalm 41:3

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.  He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Psalm 107:19-20

Jesus said to the woman, “You are now well because of your faith. May God give you peace! You are healed, and you will no longer be in pain.” Mark 5:34

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?” Ecc. 4:9

For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.” Eph. 5:25

Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. Mark 10:9

and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me. Gen. 22:18

All your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Cor. 10-13

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. Deut. 28:12

Trust With All Your Heart

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

— Prov. 3:5-6

There’s trusting in God and then there’s trusting in God with ALL your heart. As I meditated on this scripture one thing popped out — “with all your heart”. It’s not enough to put your trust in the Lord, you must do so with all your heart. There are parts of our lives that continue to be a struggle because we mentally assent the Word of God. It makes sense to our brains so we mentally agree with what the Word of God says but deep down in our hearts, there’s a glitch.

If we don't allow the Word of God to permeate the inner most part of our hearts, we will remain defeated. Look at Romans 10:9-10, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your HEART that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your HEART that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. “ When the Word of God is trusted (The Word is God!) with all your heart there’s an action that takes place! YOU SPEAK!! This is so important!

Loads of people declare the goodness of God on a Sunday morning and they barely make it past the church parking lot before saying something contrary it. If there’s no abundance of God's Word in you, there will be no abundance of God’s Word spoken from you. Through the Scriptures we understand how powerful the spoken word is. Words, backed with faith, created what you see and feel around you at this very moment. That same formula is in effect right now. When you speak, its backed up with faith or fear, and you get what you say! That’s why we can’t just agree with it mentally, we need the Word to take root in our hearts. Only then can we SPEAK forth truth that will manifest in our lives.

If you ever get frustrated because of what you’re seeing or not seeing, get more Word! Meditate on it and let it take root in your heart. Once it get’s in there, speak it out or you’ll stunt it’s growth!

Proverbs 4:23 says, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Luke 6:45 also says, “The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.” Your faith or fear is put into action by the Words you speak. The Words you speak give way to the things you do. The things you do manifest the results in your life. If we want the Lord to lead us in the way we should go, we must believe with our whole hearts!

7 Supplements For Bigger Faith

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

— 2 Peter 1:5-11

Read that first sentence again. Each believer has a responsibility and that responsibility is to make every effort to respond to God’s promises! You can go to church every day of your life but until you make the choice to RESPOND, you’re nothing more than a seat warmer at church.
For many years I sat and listened to my husband preach. I was in church NON-STOP! A year ago the devil attacked my body and everything changed. I thought going to church made you an untouchable giant. I thought logging in countless hours of church services would exclude me from attack. I was wrong! After the attack on my body, I pressed into the things of God like never before. I wanted to know why! Why did those horrible things happen to a preacher's wife?! We’re supposed to be the example, the role models!

2 Peter 1:10 says, “So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen.” This statement blew my mind. It implies the fact that there are many who call themselves Christians but there’s an application that needs to be made to confirm that you are “called and chosen.”

Notice how he tells us to “supplement our faith.” That word ‘supplement’ is defined “something that completes or enhances something else when added to it.” If you feel like your faith is weak, (like mine was) here are things we can supplement (faith steroids or enhancers!) in order to get big faith!

1. Moral Excellence- Living a clean, righteous life. It’s doable.    (1 Peter 1:16)
2. Knowledge- You’ve heard that phrase “knowledge is power.” It’s an absolute truth for a believer. The only way to gain knowledge is by studying the Bible. The Word of God will bring you power and juice up your faith like never before! (Psalm 119:66)
3. Self-Control- Controlling yourself from anything that would try to get control over you! For me, it was self-control over my emotions. Control over the constants fears and anxiety! Self- Control must be exercised in order for the Word of God to have an effect. The way you control your flesh will pave the way for a greater blessing. God can’t do it for you. You must choose to enforce it! (1 Corinthians 9:26-27)
4. Patient Endurance - Don’t give up on God’s Word. If it says “You are healed” then don’t surrender to your sickness. Patient endurance will keep you in God’s will and lead you to receive His promises! Stay with it! (Hebrews 10:36)
5. Godliness- This word defined is “conforming to the laws and wishes of God.” Having the Word stored up on the inside of you will mold you into who He wants you to be. As you conform to the ways of God, you become godly! In becoming godly, you hold the promise of life on earth and in heaven!  (1 Timothy 4:7-8)
6. Brotherly Affection- Harboring hate or bitterness has to GO!  “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” (1 John 4:20).
7. Love For Everyone- 1 John 4:7-8 says, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” A love for people will compel you to do great things. When your sole motivation is love for those around you, you’re destined to do great things! God will mark you as a vessel that can be used because you function the way He does. He doesn’t love. He IS LOVE!

Take these 7 supplements and apply them to your life starting NOW. If you want to see incredible results, take them on a daily basis. By this time next year, you’ll be someone marked for a glorious destiny! In Jesus name!
