salvation

"One Day..."

For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

— 2 Cor. 6:2

The biggest lie a person can buy into is that of the “One Day” mentality. “Once day, I’ll get my miracle”, “One day, I’ll give my heart to Jesus”, “One day I’ll serve God like I should”. Too many people keep pushing what God wants done today for the one day. Living for God is easy. Gaining access to things of God is a piece of cake. The only person standing in the way of your breakthrough is YOU.

If you continue to leave your miracle for the future, it’ll never come. If you keep putting off your salvation until you’re done “having fun”, you risk dying in your sin and spending an eternity in hell. Someone once said “Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today”. Believing in the “One Day” logic keeps the miracles, healing, and promises at bay. The greatest frustration a believer will suffer is that of an ethereal Christianity. Promises and guarantees that are floating up in some imaginary place just enough out of reach for you never to hold it.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 9:13 “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” If you search the scriptures and find an answer, it’s yours for the taking—right now! When you encounter the Word of God and it’s promises to you, they're for RIGHT NOW. Don’t hold it off for the “one day”, take it now!

We would have never heard of a woman with an issue of blood had she not made up her mind to receive her healing NOW. We would have never heard of the man with the greatest faith in all the land had he not said “Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.” (Luke 7:7) Remember, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”( Heb. 11:1) It doesn't say “Tomorrow faith will be” or “One Day Faith will”, it says NOW FAITH IS. ‘Is” is active! “Is” is right now!! Release your faith RIGHT now and watch God move on your behalf. NOW!

Tripping Into Hell

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
— 1 John 5:12-13

My sister and brother in law have a spiral staircase in their home. I can’t even count how many times I’ve fallen down those darn stairs. Even when I’m trying to be careful, my butt lands on the bottom floor. Can I tell you, I’ve never fallen down those stairs and landed on the top floor. There are people who will live their lives carefully and when they meet eternity will find themselves on the bottom floor. I’m talking about hell people!

Anyone in heaven will know they made a conscious decision to get there. They took the steps necessary to make it up to heaven. Sadly, a lot of people will be in hell by accident. Maybe they never heard the Gospel. Maybe they were too lazy to take salvation seriously. Maybe they thought “I’m a good person, God wouldn't send a good person to hell.” The devil's greatest success in America is lulling everyone to sleep. I’ve never seen so many people not care about eternity. We’ll have tangible miracles in our services and no one cares. Jon will give a call for salvation and people take it as their cue to leave the service! People just don't care!

Those people represent someone’s sister, brother, mom, dad, grandchild or friend. It’s a precious moment, a holy moment, and people just up and leave! We must do our part and tell people about Jesus. We need to sound the alarm and wake people up. Most Christians were once drowning in an ocean with no hope in life. Then they came in contact with a cruise liner. That cruise liner picked them up and place them on board. What do most Christians do after that? They go into the kitchen and grab some food, maybe even hit the hot tub. In the meantime, there are millions right outside of that boat sinking into eternal darkness.

The job of a Christian isn't to sit pretty on top of the cruise liner while people perish all around you. The job of every believer is to bring people onto the ship of salvation! There's enough space for everyone on this ship! So we must do everything we can to bring people on board!

If you've never accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, you cannot delay it any longer. If there was never a time you confessed Jesus as Lord of your life and believed in your heart that God raised Him up from the dead (to pay the penalty for your sins), you will go to hell (Romans 10:9)! I don't want you to go to hell and neither does God. So say this prayer out loud...

Heavenly Father, forgive me of my sins. I believe Jesus is Lord over my life. I believe you raised Him up from the dead to die for me! His death on the cross paid the penalty for my sins. I receive your forgiveness. I know I'm going to heaven! Thank you for the blood of your Son! Now, baptize me with your wonderful Holy Spirit, that I may never be the same again! In Jesus Name!

Welcome to the Family of God!

No Work, All Pray

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”
— Mark 16:15-18

Demonic Strongholds. I’ve heard those words thrown around by Christians since  I first gave my heart to Jesus. “There is a demonic stronghold in this region. Can you feel it? It’s what's holding back revival!” Hogwash.

I hate to break it to you but if you’re praying against spirits in the air and binding the demonic strongholds in an area you’re wasting your time. If you want to see God’s glory come, you need to cultivate it and do what Jesus did! People have traded the Word of God for some ethereal belief that if we pray against strongholds in our area, God will come down from the throne and bring revival. That ain’t happening!

Don’t ignore the Word of God. Quit praying against the devil and begin to do something about it! If you want revival, lead someone to Jesus! If you want to see your area changed, tell people about Jesus! Work the works He instructed us to do!

Those who “believe” are you and me! We have to declare the Good News to the world. We need to cast out demons, speak in new tongues and heal the sick!  Do you know what we do instead? We pray and have intercession that God would do those things instead. It sounds nice to “break the strongman” from a city but it’s a cop out. People want to sing songs to break people free from sin without preaching the Word. People want to pray all night for the Sodom and Gomorrah spirit to be bound from America without leading one family members to Jesus. No work, all pray!

Tell people about Jesus, It’s your job! Will people reject you? Sure! Who cares!? Move on to the next! You're being faithful to the Word of God and that's what matters most!  There is no greater joy than leading someone to Jesus! TRY IT OUT!

You are God's masterpiece!

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
— Ephesians 2:10

I went to the Louvre Museum in Paris a few years ago. The moment you walk into the place your eyes are captivated by these giant pieces of artwork. They have all kinds of sculptures and pictures in there but the most notable is the Mona Lisa. I had to wait in line for this picture with anticipation. After seeing the most incredible wall to wall murals I knew this was going to be good! I was wrong.

There it was. The most notable piece of art in the world. And it was priceless. Ugly and small but priceless nonetheless.  What was all the fuss about? The chick didn't even contour her face for the picture!

If something so little and drab could be called a masterpiece, what are you and I?! The Bible says in Ephesians 2:10 that we are God's masterpiece, created to do the good things He's planned for us long ago. Stop and think about that!

God has created you to be a masterpiece so that He could show you off! He has a plan and purpose for you that are GOOD. He wants you to be that showpiece everyone talks about. The next time you look in the mirror say it out loud for your brain to capture. “I am God’s masterpiece!”

He doesn't want you strung out on heroin. He doesn't want you throwing up after each meal. He hates that demon in you that makes you want to cut yourself. Recognize your worth. You were created to be free from the oppression of the devil. You are destined for great things. If you think no one believes in you remind yourself of this scripture. God believes in you so much, He has planned good things for your life! You are priceless!

You cannot attain those great plans for your life without first accepting Jesus into your heart. In the same passage it says He created us anew in Christ Jesus so that we can fulfill those wonderful things He’s planned out for us. Accepting Jesus as your savior is the first step!

If you’ve never done that, say this prayer out loud!

Heavenly Father, forgive me of my sins.

I recognize my need for a savior.

Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God.

I believe you died for my sins.

I believe that you were raised from the deadon the third day so that I could be free!

I accept your forgiveness right now!

Thank you for your sacrifice Jesus!

Now fill me with your Spirit, never to be the same again!

In Jesus name!
